Why subscribe to breccia?

breccia is the name for a rock composed of large angular fragments; bits thrown together that make a whole and tell a new story. It is a rock composed of clasts that hold each other, or can be linked by a matrix of supporting grains that maintain the structure. I write about my life on or adjacent to rock as an outdoor psychotherapist, embodied writing mentor, adventure traveller and former geologist.

My first book was called Grounded and my second Weathering. This is a newsletter for the in-between. The new rubble.

I try to follow the following published schedule, though I do err especially at times of travel (or during writing deadlines!)

  • Weekly long-form on Thursdays

  • Brief contemplations on Sundays

  • Occasional NEWS of things things to join as relevant to the event calendar

(PLEASE NOTE: If you are a therapist I rarely post pieces about ‘doing therapy’ - this is a space to talk about things I am interested it beyond my therapy work, and though it all informs my therapy in tangential ways this is not an outdoor therapist’s how to.)

No need to scroll unless you want to.

Every new edition of the newsletter goes directly to your inbox or you can drop in here to read through the archive. There is something nice about using the app and having an explore! I have made an effort to put things into categories to save your time.

Be a part of the Breccia community.

If you chime with me, my work, my way of life why not join me and share in the discussions so that we can grow new ideas and find new inspirations together? I welcome your thoughts, comments, insights on anything I write and hope you will bring your own stories in response to mine.
